About this product
A Zigbee siren: the noise your sensors do not make. A door sensor sends a quiet notification to a phone that may be face down in another room. Link it to this and the whole house is told instead, at 85 dB with a flashing light.

What a Zigbee siren adds to a shelf of sensors
Sensors are quiet. A door contact sends a notification to a phone that is face down in another room, on silent, or flat. That is fine for a log and useless for an intrusion. Put a siren on the same hub and any sensor you own gains a voice: the door contact, the motion sensor, the smoke sensor, the water sensor, in any combination you like. This is the part that turns a collection of gadgets into something you would call an alarm.
85 dB, and what that is for
85 dB is loud enough to be heard through a closed door and to be genuinely unpleasant in the room it is in, which is what you want from an indoor siren: it wakes the house and it makes staying a bad idea. It is not an external deterrent siren bolted to a gable wall, and we are not going to pretend it is. If you want the louder outdoor class of noise, the Aeotec Siren is rated to 110 dB. The strobe matters as much as the volume here, because a light does not compete with rain on a metal roof.
It keeps working when the power goes
It runs from the included adaptor and carries a backup battery, so pulling the fuse or cutting the supply does not silence it. That is not a luxury on an alarm; it is the first thing anybody defeats if it is missing.
It tells your phone as well
When the siren sounds, a notification is pushed to you. So you know the house is making a noise whether you are asleep upstairs, at the office, or out of the country. Sound for whoever is there, notification for whoever is not.
What sets it off
Anything Zigbee on the same hub. The Zigbee door sensor on a gate, the Zigbee PIR sensor in a corridor, the Zigbee smoke sensor on a ceiling, or the Zigbee water sensor under a sink.
A Zigbee hub is required and is not included: the Tuya Zigbee gateway or the version with an IR blaster. Tuya, the platform behind the app, is at tuya.com.

Questions
Do I need a hub?
Yes. This is a Zigbee device and a Zigbee hub has to be on site. We sell them.
What can set it off?
Any Zigbee sensor on the same hub: door sensors, motion sensors, smoke sensors, water sensors. You choose in the app which of them sound it.
Will it work in a power cut?
It has a backup battery, so yes.
Can I turn it off from my phone?
Yes, from the app, as long as the hub is reachable.
Where should it go?
Somewhere it will be heard and somewhere an intruder cannot reach quickly. High on a wall is the usual answer.
