About this product
A Zigbee PIR sensor on a swivel stand. The head tilts and turns on the foot, so once the base is fixed to a wall or a ceiling you aim the lens exactly where you want it and leave it. It detects a person moving 5 to 7 metres away across a wide arc, enough to take a whole room from one corner.

The useful part is what it triggers. Open the door and the sitting room light comes on. Leave the kitchen and the socket cuts. Get up at night and the desk lamp comes up dim. All of it set in the Smart Life app with any other device you own.
A Tuya Zigbee 3.0 gateway is required and is not included.
What a Zigbee PIR sensor actually detects
Pyroelectric infrared, which means it is looking for a warm body moving across its view rather than for movement in general. That is why it is not fooled by a curtain lifting in a draught or by light moving across a wall, the two things that make cheap microwave sensors so tiresome. It picks up a person at 5 to 7 metres, enough to hold a normal room from one corner.
On the arc, we will not print a number we cannot stand behind
The manufacturer parameter panel says 150 degrees. An earlier supplier listing for the same part said 170. We have not been able to reconcile the two, so rather than choose the flattering one we are telling you both. Either figure covers a room from a corner; if the exact arc matters for your layout, ask us and we will measure the unit in stock.
The swivel stand is what makes it work in awkward rooms
The head tilts and turns on the foot, so the base can go where there is somewhere to fix it and the lens can still point where you need it. Ceilings, high corners, the top of a door frame: all places where a fixed sensor ends up covering the floor two metres in front of it and nothing else. Small and white, so it does not advertise itself.
Battery, and being warned in time
One CR2450 coin cell runs it for more than a year, and the app pushes a warning before it goes flat rather than after. Operating range is -10 to 45 degrees and 10 to 90 per cent humidity, which is comfortably inside anything an indoor room here will do.
Which of the two, and what it needs
This is the swivel stand version on a CR2450. The Zigbee motion sensor is the rotating ball on a magnetic holder, easier to lift off and move. Take this one for a fixed position aimed carefully; take that one if it will be moved about.
A Tuya Zigbee 3.0 gateway is required and is not included: the Tuya Zigbee gateway, or the version with an IR blaster. Pair it with the Zigbee siren to make a trigger audible. The app for all of this is Smart Life, a free download.

Questions
Do I need a hub?
Yes. It is a Zigbee device and needs a Tuya Zigbee 3.0 gateway. We sell them.
Where should it go?
A corner, aimed across the room rather than at the door you come through. A PIR sees movement across its view better than movement straight towards it.
Can it switch a light on?
Yes, through the app, using any smart switch, bulb or socket you already have on the same account.
How is this different from the other Zigbee motion sensor?
This one is on a swivel stand, with a 170 degree view and a 7 metre range. The other is the ball head in a round base. Both need the same hub.
Will a pet trigger it?
A PIR responds to a warm body moving. Aiming it higher and across the room rather than down at the floor is the usual way to reduce it.
