Smart Alerts Direct to Your Phone

The X-Sense XS01-WX connects directly to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network without requiring a separate hub or base station. When smoke is detected, the unit sounds an 85 dB siren locally and immediately delivers push notifications to your smartphone via the X-Sense Home Security app. This ensures you are alerted whether you are in another room, at work, or away from home.

Photoelectric Detection and App Monitoring

Equipped with a photoelectric sensor with a 10-year operating life, the alarm detects smoke from slow-smouldering fires while reducing nuisance alarms. The mobile app provides real-time notifications for smoke detection, device status, and low-battery warnings. It also allows you to silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes directly from your phone. Multiple family members can share access to device monitoring through the app, and up to 49 XS01-WX units can be added and independently named within a single home network.

Standalone Operation and Power

Powered by a replaceable 3 V CR123A lithium battery with an expected battery life of 1 year, the detector continues to function as a standalone alarm even if the local Wi-Fi connection drops. While the app will display the device as offline during an internet outage, the local sounder operates normally. Note that each XS01-WX unit operates independently over Wi-Fi and does not wirelessly interconnect with other smoke alarms, nor is it compatible with the SBS50 base station or smart home assistants such as Alexa or Google Home.

Placement and Network Requirements

For optimal coverage, install alarms in bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, and on each level of the building. To minimise false triggers, avoid placing the unit in kitchens or near bathrooms where cooking fumes or steam may interfere with the sensor. Initial setup requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz is not supported) with Bluetooth enabled on your smartphone during pairing.
