About this product

An eMylo RF relay and two key fob remotes. Press the fob, the relay switches.

No app, no Wi-Fi, no internet

An eMylo RF relay is 433MHz radio and nothing else. Press the fob, the relay switches.

That is a limitation and a feature at once. It keeps working when the router is off, when the fibre is cut, and when the power has just come back and nothing has reconnected yet. What you cannot do is switch it from outside the house.

Two fobs, and where they end up

Two key fob remotes come in the box, which is more useful than it sounds.

One lives on a keyring and switches the gate light from the car before you turn in. The other stays in the house so somebody indoors can reach the same circuit. On a workshop or a pump, one fob by the door and one in the house covers both people who need it.

Where the eMylo RF relay earns its place

A gate light or a security lamp switched from the car. A water pump in an outbuilding. A workshop light. A store room.

All of those are circuits somebody wants to switch from where they are standing, not from an app, and often when the connection is down anyway. A radio fob is the honest answer and it costs a fraction of a smart module.

Where it must not go

An electrician wires it. The terminals carry mains and the box is not sealed.

So it belongs indoors, dry and out of reach, even when the thing it switches is outside. A relay in a damp pump house or bolted to an outside wall is a fire risk. Put it in the dry and run the cable out.

Two things we will read off the unit

The load rating and the exact radio behaviour we will confirm from the unit in stock rather than print from a supplier listing.

Tell us what you want to switch and we will check the label before you buy. That matters most if the load is a pump or anything with a motor, where the starting current is far higher than the running current.

If you want the same radio convenience with nothing wired in at all, our remote control plug sockets plug straight into a socket. If you want app control as well as radio, that is the WiFi relay with RF. The 433 MHz band this remote uses is one of the licence free ISM bands, described at Wikipedia.

Questions

Can I control it from my phone?

No. There is no app and no Wi-Fi in this at all. If you want phone and voice control, tell us what you are switching and we will point you at a Wi-Fi relay instead.

Then why buy it?

Three reasons people give us. It works when the internet does not. It needs no account, no setup and no phone, which matters for a workshop or a rented outbuilding. And a fob on a keyring is faster than an app when you are pulling up to a gate at night.

How far does the fob reach?

It is radio rather than infrared, so it goes through walls and does not need line of sight. Across a compound is usually fine; through several block walls, less so. Tell us the distance and we will be honest about it.

Can I add more remotes later?

Usually yes, by pairing another fob of the same type, and two come in the box to start with. Ask us before buying extras so we can check they match.

Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
