About this product

A WiFi relay with RF answers to two different things: your phone, and a 433MHz radio handset.

A WiFi relay with RF: two ways in, and why that matters

A WiFi relay with RF answers to your phone over Wi-Fi and to a 433MHz radio handset.

The Wi-Fi side gives you the Tuya or Smart Life app, schedules, scenes and voice control through Alexa and Google Assistant, with no hub. The radio side keeps working when the router is off, the fibre is cut, or the power has just come back and nothing has reconnected yet.

Which in Dar is not a theoretical advantage

A gate light or a borehole pump that can only be reached through an app is stranded every time the connection is.

A handset in a drawer solves that for nothing, and it keeps working for whoever is at the house when you are not, including somebody who does not have the app or your Wi-Fi password. That is the honest case for paying for the radio side.

What we will not claim about the remote

No remote is shown in the photograph of our stock.

The receiver pairs with standard 433MHz remotes, and they are easy to source, but we are not going to tell you one is in the carton until we have opened it and looked. Ask us before ordering and we will check the actual box.

Where it can and cannot go

An electrician wires it. Rated 10A at 90 to 250V, which is a lighting and small appliance rating rather than a geyser one.

The terminals carry mains and the board is not sealed, so it belongs indoors, dry and out of reach, even when the load it switches is outside. A relay in a damp outbuilding is a fire risk, not a shortcut.

When to choose something else

If the internet at your house is reliable and you only ever want app control, a plain Shelly 1 is rated at 16A rather than 10A and keeps a local web interface, so it also survives an outage without needing a handset.

If you want radio control with no app at all and nothing wired in, our remote control plug sockets plug straight into a socket. This module is the middle answer: wired in, and reachable both ways. You will end up in Smart Life, which is a free download.

What’s in the box

Not yet defined.

We are still collecting box contents from the manufacturers. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will open one on the shelf and tell you exactly what is inside.

Questions

Does a remote come with it?

We are not going to say yes until we have opened the carton. The photograph of our stock does not show one, and the receiver pairs with standard 433 MHz remotes either way. Ask us and we will look at the one on the shelf.

Why would I want the radio as well as Wi-Fi?

Because the app stops working when the internet does and the radio does not. For a gate light, a pump or anything outside the house, a handset that works regardless is worth having.

Can it go outside?

No. There is no weather rating, and the board is not sealed. If the thing you are switching is outside, this still goes indoors, dry and out of reach.

What can I switch with it?

Anything up to 10 A: lights, a fan, a small pump, a security lamp. Not a geyser. Tell us the load and we will check it before you buy.

Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
