About this product
The SONOFF ZBMINI is the same idea as the Wi-Fi MINI, on Zigbee instead.

Read this first: it needs a Zigbee gateway
Zigbee devices do not join your Wi-Fi. The SONOFF ZBMINI talks to a gateway, and one is not included.
Without a gateway this module does nothing at all. We sell two that run it: the Zigbee Tuya Gateway, and the gateway with IR and Bluetooth if you also want the air conditioner on your phone. Budget for both if you are starting from nothing.
Why Zigbee is the right way round for a whole house
Ten Wi-Fi modules are ten devices on your router, each one a thing that can drop off, and each one competing with the phones and the television.
Ten Zigbee modules are one gateway and a mesh that gets stronger as you add to it. Every mains powered module repeats the signal for the next, so the far end of the compound reaches the gateway through everything in between. They also draw far less power.
So which should you buy
Doing one room, or two? Buy the Wi-Fi SONOFF Mini. There is no gateway to buy and no reason to add one for two modules.
Doing a house? This is the right way round, and the gateway pays for itself in reliability by about the sixth module. That is the whole decision, and it does not depend on anything else about the two products.
With the SONOFF ZBMINI the switch on the wall keeps working
It hides in the back box behind the existing switch, which carries on doing what it did, with two way switching supported for a landing or a corridor.
An electrician fits it. Rated 10A at 100 to 240V, with no metering and no dimming.
Which app you end up in
It can run in eWeLink, SONOFF's own app, or in your gateway's app if the gateway supports it. Voice control comes through the gateway rather than from the module itself.
That is worth thinking about before you buy: a house running Tuya gateways and Tuya devices is simpler to live with in one app than one split across two. Tell us what you already have and we will say which way round to set it up. SONOFF list the Zigbee range at sonoff.tech.

Questions
Do I need anything else?
Yes, a Zigbee gateway, and it is not in the box. We sell two: the Zigbee Tuya Gateway and the one that also has an infrared blaster and Bluetooth. Without a gateway this module cannot be reached at all.
Should I buy Zigbee or the Wi-Fi version?
One or two rooms, buy the Wi-Fi MINI: it needs nothing else. A whole house, buy Zigbee: ten Wi-Fi modules are ten more devices on your router, while ten Zigbee modules are one gateway and a mesh that improves as it grows.
Does my existing wall switch still work?
Yes. It wires to the module instead of to the light, so a tap still works for anyone who does not use the app, and two way circuits are supported.
Will it work with the gateway I already have?
If it is a Zigbee 3.0 gateway, almost certainly. Tell us which one you have and we will confirm before you buy.
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
