About this product
This is not a lock so much as a replacement for the barrel inside the lock you already have. Pull out the euro cylinder in your door, slide this one in, and the door itself is untouched: same handle, same mortise, same holes.
- Why a fingerprint cylinder lock instead of a whole lock
- Four ways in, and one deliberate omission
- Power, range and fit
- No keypad, and that is deliberate
That makes it the cheapest way to put a fingerprint on a door you cannot or do not want to modify, and the obvious answer for a rented flat, a shop unit or a landlord who does not want twelve doors cut about.
Four ways in: fingerprint, an IC card or fob, the Tuya app over Bluetooth, and the mechanical key. It stores 100 fingerprints and reads one in about 0.3 seconds. There is no keypad on this one: if you want to be able to read a code down the phone to somebody, take the cylinder with the keypad instead.
It is Bluetooth, so your phone has to be near the door. To manage access and read the log while you are away, add the Tuya Bluetooth Hub, which we sell separately. Without it the lock is still fully usable at the door.
It runs on a single CR123A cell, with a Type-C port on the outside for emergency power, and it fits doors 35 to 45 mm thick. Measure your existing cylinder before ordering: length is the one thing that has to match and it is the commonest mistake people make.
Why a fingerprint cylinder lock instead of a whole lock
A fingerprint cylinder lock changes the barrel, not the door. The euro cylinder comes out, this one goes in, and the handle, the mortise and every hole in the door stay exactly where they were. Nothing is cut and nothing is drilled, so it comes out again just as easily.
That is what makes it the cheapest route to a fingerprint on a door you are not allowed to modify: a rented flat, a shop unit, or a landlord with twelve doors who does not want twelve doors altered.
Four ways in, and one deliberate omission
Fingerprint, an IC card or fob, the Tuya app over Bluetooth, and the mechanical key. It stores 100 prints and the semiconductor sensor reads at any angle, in about 0.3 seconds.
There is no keypad on this one. That is worth understanding before you order rather than after: without a keypad you cannot read a code down the phone to somebody standing at the door. If that is how you expect to use it, take the cylinder with the keypad instead and we will point you at it.
Power, range and fit
A single CR123A cell runs it, with a Type-C port on the outside face for emergency power if it dies while you are out. The reader is 42 x 42 mm in aluminium alloy and brass, rated IP5X against dust and splashes, and it fits doors 35 to 45 mm thick in an A35/B35 cylinder size.
It is a Bluetooth device, so the app reaches it from the doorstep. Add the Tuya Bluetooth Hub, sold separately, to manage users and read the log from elsewhere. Measure your existing cylinder before ordering. Length is the one dimension that has to match, and it is the commonest mistake made with any cylinder lock.
No keypad, and that is deliberate
Before ordering, be sure you will never want to give somebody a code over the phone, because this model has no keypad to type one into. If you might, the C001D cylinder adds one and is otherwise the same idea.
Then measure your existing barrel, since A35/B35 is what this is and length is the only thing that has to match. Both cylinders are in smart locks. Setup notes for the app are on tuya.com.

Questions
How do I know it will fit my door?
Measure your existing cylinder. Take the screw out of the edge of the door, pull the cylinder, and measure from the centre of the screw hole to each end. We stock the A35/B35 size, which is 35 mm each side, and it suits doors 35 to 45 mm thick. If yours is a different length it will not fit, so measure before you pay, or send us a photo of the cylinder with a tape beside it.
Do I have to change the door or the handle?
No, and that is the point of it. Only the barrel comes out. The door, the handle, the mortise and the strike plate all stay exactly as they are, which is why this suits rented property and shop units where you are not allowed to cut anything.
Can I open it with a code?
Not on this one. There is no keypad. You get in by fingerprint, by IC card or fob, from the app, or with the key. If you need to be able to read a code down the phone to a guest or a workman, take the cylinder with the keypad instead and we will show you both.
Can I open it from my phone when I am not home?
Not on its own. It uses Bluetooth, so your phone has to be near the door. Add the Tuya Bluetooth Hub, which we sell separately, and you can manage access and read the log from anywhere.
What powers it and what happens when it runs down?
One CR123A cell inside the cylinder. When it gets low the lock warns you, and there is a Type-C port on the outside so a power bank opens it. The mechanical keys work in the normal way regardless.
