About this product
Two turbines instead of one. The eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is aimed squarely at the thing that defeats most vacuums: hair wound into carpet.
- The eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid runs twin turbines
- Four suction levels, and why that matters at night
- Recharge and resume
- The biggest bin here except one
- Which of the three eufy robots
It navigates by laser, so it maps the house and finds its way back to the dock. The app adds no-go zones, room by room cleaning and a map editor.
The eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid runs twin turbines
The eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid runs a pair of suction motors side by side rather than one, for 2 x 2,000 Pa, which eufy rate at 80 per cent more airflow than a single-turbine robot.
That is aimed at the one thing that defeats most robot vacuums: hair wound down into carpet pile. A single turbine skims the surface and leaves the pile alone. Two pulling together lift it out.
Four suction levels, and why that matters at night
It runs at 2 x 450, 2 x 850, 2 x 1450 or the full 2 x 2,000 Pa, set in the app.
At the bottom of that range it is quiet enough to run at 60dB while the house is asleep or somebody is working. At the top it is loud, and that is the setting to schedule for when everybody is out. A robot with one speed is either always too loud or never strong enough.
Recharge and resume
It maps the house by laser, cleans in straight overlapping lines and finds the dock on its own. If the battery runs out before the floor is finished, it docks, tops up and carries on from where it stopped rather than starting the whole house again.
180 minutes covers about 180 square metres in one go, so for most Dar houses the resume feature is insurance rather than a daily event. In a large single-storey house it is the difference between a floor finished and a floor half done.
The biggest bin here except one
400ml, which is a large bin for a robot without a self-emptying tower, and it means fewer trips to the dustbin in a house that generates fine dust.
The mopping module holds 250ml and comes with both a washable cloth and five disposable ones, so you can try both before deciding what to keep buying.
Which of the three eufy robots
Take this one if you want twin-turbine suction and a big bin, and you do not mind emptying it yourself. It runs the EufyHome app with Alexa and Google, climbs an 18mm threshold, and takes 4 to 5 hours to charge.
If emptying the bin is the part you want to avoid, the X8 Pro with the Self-Empty Station is the same idea with a tower. If the budget is the constraint and single-turbine suction is enough, the L60 Hybrid still has real laser navigation. eufy publish the range at eufy.com.

Questions
What does twin turbine actually buy me?
Two suction motors running side by side, which eufy rate at 80 per cent more airflow than a single turbine. The difference shows on carpet and on hair, which is where ordinary robots leave things behind.
Does it mop as well?
Yes. A mopping module with a 250 ml tank clips on, and both a washable cloth and five disposable cloths are in the box. It is for dust and light marks on hard floors rather than scrubbing.
Can I stop it going into a room?
Yes. Draw a no-go zone in the app, or send it to clean one room only. It keeps an editable map and can recharge and resume, so a big house gets finished in one go.
How loud is it?
60 dB at full power, and there are three quieter levels below that. On the lowest setting it is comfortable to have running while you are in the house.
What is the difference between this and the X8 Pro?
The X8 Pro is stronger at 2 x 4,000 Pa and comes with a station that empties the robot into a bag for you. This one you empty yourself, and the bin is a generous 400 ml.
