How the eufy L60 Hybrid finds its way around

Cheap robot vacuums bump around at random and hope. A spinning laser on top of the eufy L60 Hybrid measures the room instead, so it builds a map, cleans in straight overlapping lines, remembers where it has been, and takes itself back to the dock when the battery drops.

In the app that map becomes useful. Draw no-go zones around the dog bowl or a nest of cables. Send it to clean one room rather than the whole floor. Keep a separate map per floor of the house.

5,000 Pa, and what that is for

Suction is the number everybody quotes and most robots at this price do not have. 5,000 Pa is enough for the sand and fine dust that comes into a Dar house every day, and enough to lift grit out of a rug rather than pushing it around.

The filter is washable, which matters here more than in a temperate climate. A robot run daily in a dusty house clogs a filter fast, and a washable one is the difference between a running cost and a rinse under the tap.

What the mop does, and what it does not

The mopping module clips on and drags a damp flat pad behind the vacuum, with the water flow set in the app.

It is for dust and light marks on hard floors, not for scrubbing. A flat pad dragged behind a robot will not lift a dried spill or clean a kitchen after cooking. Set expectations there and it is a genuinely useful daily maintenance tool; expect a mop and you will be disappointed.

You empty this one yourself

There is no self-emptying station with the L60. The 260ml bin comes out and gets emptied by hand after a run or two.
