Danalock V3 Bluetooth & Z-Wave

A Danish made motor that mounts on the inside of your door and turns the cylinder for you. From outside, the door looks exactly as it did: same handle, same keyhole, same key in your pocket if you want it. Nobody passing knows there is a smart lock on it.

It fits any door with a euro profile cylinder, which is the ordinary European mortise fitting, and it goes on without drilling. It talks Bluetooth to your phone at the door and Z-Wave Plus at 868.42 MHz to a controller, so it can sit in the same system as the rest of your house. Auto-lock shuts the door behind you after a delay you set.

Two things to be clear about before you order. First, the lock cylinder is not in the box. The Danalock replaces your existing cylinder with a Danalock one, and that is bought separately. Ask us and we will sort it with the lock. Second, Bluetooth only reaches as far as the door. To lock or unlock from outside the house you need either a Z-Wave controller such as a Fibaro or Homey hub, or the Danabridge V3, which we sell.

Power is four CR123A cells, included. Danalock rate them at 6 to 12 months, and other sources say about 9,000 openings or a year. Add the Danapad outside if you want a code as well as a phone.

What a Danalock V3 smart lock leaves alone

Nothing changes on the outside of the door. The handle, the keyhole and the key in your pocket all stay exactly as they were, because the Danalock V3 smart lock mounts on the inside and turns the existing euro profile cylinder for you. Anyone walking past sees an ordinary door. That matters more than it sounds: a lock that advertises itself is a lock that invites attention.

Fitting needs no drilling. The unit clamps over the cylinder on the inside face, which also means it comes off again without leaving holes, so it suits a rented flat as well as a house you own.

Getting in from outside the house

Bluetooth reaches as far as the door and no further. Standing on the step, your phone opens it. From the office or another town it will not, and this is the single point people most often miss when ordering a Danalock V3 smart lock.

There are two ways round it. A Z-Wave Plus controller such as a Fibaro or Homey hub brings the lock into a whole house system on 868.42 MHz, which is the route to take if you already run other Z-Wave kit. The Danabridge V3 is the simpler option: one plug near the door and the lock answers from anywhere. Add the Danapad outside if you want a code as well as a phone.

Cylinder, batteries and what is not in the box

The lock cylinder is not included. The Danalock V3 smart lock replaces your existing cylinder with a Danalock one, bought separately, and we will sort that out with the lock if you ask.
