Fibaro Flood Sensor

The Fibaro Flood Sensor is a Z-Wave wireless water leak detector equipped with built-in temperature and tilt sensors. Engineered for versatile placement, the compact unit can rest directly on flat or uneven flooring, or be integrated into wired alarm setups using internal terminal connections.

Water Leak Detection

Three telescopic probes plated with 24-karat gold extend from the base of the device to detect liquid on contact. The spring-loaded telescopic mechanism ensures steady surface contact even on uneven floor tiles or rough surfaces, while the gold plating prevents corrosion over time. For tight gaps, narrow ducts, or enclosed areas where the main body cannot sit, an external wired probe (not included) can be connected to the internal input terminal.

Buoyant Design and Local Alerts

If water levels rise, the sensor enclosure is engineered to float on the water surface, preventing submersion so the transmitter can continue broadcasting alarm notifications. When a leak occurs, the unit sounds an integrated acoustic siren and illuminates an RGB LED indicator for immediate on-site awareness.

Temperature and Tilt Tamper Protection

In addition to water detection, an internal temperature sensor tracks ambient conditions to help flag rapid heat spikes or freezing conditions. An integrated tilt sensor detects physical movement or tilting greater than 15 degrees, signaling the Z-Wave controller if the sensor is kicked, dislodged, or opened.

Power and System Requirements

The sensor operates wirelessly on a single CR123A battery, delivering up to 2.5 years of battery life under default settings. Alternatively, it can run on permanent 12V to 24V DC power. The device also includes an output terminal to tie directly into wired alarm panels. Full remote notifications and automation rules require a compatible Z-Wave smart home gateway.
