About this product
Professional DIN Rail Smart Relay
The Shelly Pro 3 is a professional three-channel smart relay designed for installation on standard DIN rails inside electrical breaker boxes and consumer units. Featuring Shelly Gen2 hardware with LAN, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, it provides reliable remote and automated control over three independent circuits without requiring an external automation hub.
Potential-Free Dry Contacts
All three relay channels feature potential-free (dry) contacts, allowing the module to switch independent circuits at varied voltage levels, including low-voltage control circuits. This configuration supports control across up to three different electrical phases, making it suitable for managing commercial lighting, contactors, heating controls, irrigation valves, and motor control circuits from a single DIN rail enclosure.
Reliable Wired Ethernet and Wireless Networking
Metal consumer units often attenuate wireless signals. The Shelly Pro 3 includes an RJ45 Ethernet port for a direct, shielded wired network connection. In addition to Ethernet, it supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for pairing through the Shelly Cloud app. The device includes an embedded web server, TLS security, and support for MQTT, HTTP REST webhooks, and local scripting to keep automations running even without active internet access.
Load Capacity and Safety Requirements
The device supports a maximum load of 16 A per channel and up to 48 A across all three channels. It requires a 110-230 V AC power supply with a neutral wire connection to power its internal logic. The housing is built from flame-resistant materials and includes internal temperature protection. The Pro 3 is an on/off switching relay and does not include power metering. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician inside the distribution board.

Questions
Does the Shelly Pro 3 measure electricity consumption?
No. The Shelly Pro 3 is designed for switching only and does not include power metering hardware.
Does this relay require a neutral wire?
Yes. The Shelly Pro 3 requires a neutral wire connection alongside mains AC power to operate its internal electronics.
Can the Shelly Pro 3 switch different phases or voltages?
Yes. Because the three relay channels use potential-free dry contacts, each channel can switch an independent circuit, including different electrical phases or low-voltage control lines.
Do I need a separate smart home hub to use this relay?
No hub is required. The device connects directly to your local network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and features an onboard web server as well as Shelly Cloud and local API support.
Who should install the Shelly Pro 3?
The device is mounted directly onto a DIN rail inside an electrical breaker panel and must be installed by a qualified electrician.
