Set the Shelly Plus 2PM to roller mode and the two relays become open and close for a motor: a curtain track, a blind, a gate, a garage door.

The app remembers the position, so you can send it half way rather than only fully open or fully shut. And it has obstacle detection, which stops the motor when something is in the way. A gate that closes on a car bumper is an expensive morning, and this is the feature that prevents it.

In the other mode it is simply two independent metered relays in one back box.

Two lighting circuits from one module, each with its own schedule and its own consumption figure. On a landing with an upstairs and downstairs light on the same plate, that is one module instead of two and one hole in the wall instead of none extra.

Check the load before you plan it

10A per channel, 16A across both, 18A peak. That total is the number that governs.

Two lighting circuits are comfortable. Two heavy loads are not, and putting a geyser on one channel and a pump on the other will exceed the 16A total even though each is inside the 10A per channel figure. If both loads are heavy, use two single modules on separate circuits.

How it wires in

It is 37 x 42 x 16mm in the back box, on live, neutral and two loads, with your existing switches on the two inputs. An electrician fits it.

In roller mode those two switches become up and down, so an ordinary two-gang plate turns into curtain controls with nothing visible changing on the wall.

Setup and what it needs

Bluetooth alongside Wi-Fi, so pairing happens from the phone without joining a temporary network first. No hub and no account: it keeps a local web interface, so schedules survive an internet outage.

Supply is 110 to 240V AC or 24V DC. If you only need one metered circuit, the Plus 1PM costs less; if you need no metering at all but a dry contact for a gate controller, that is the Plus 1. The roller shutter settings are documented at shelly.com.
