About this product
A Ring doorbell power adapter: constant 24 volts from an ordinary wall socket. Most houses here have no doorbell transformer behind the front door, and without one a Ring doorbell runs on its battery and has to come off the wall to be charged.

Why a Ring doorbell power adapter is usually necessary here
Video doorbells are designed around a bell transformer sitting behind the front door, which is normal in houses wired for a wired chime and unusual in most houses in this city. Without one the doorbell runs on its battery, and every few weeks somebody has to take it off the wall, bring it inside, charge it and put it back. This adapter removes that whole routine by giving the doorbell constant 24 volt power from an ordinary socket.
Nothing is chased into the wall
It plugs into a normal socket and runs a pair of thin wires to the doorbell terminals. No existing bell wiring is needed, nothing goes into the plaster and no electrician is required for the adapter itself. The cable is 8 metres, which is usually enough to get from a socket inside the house, through a door frame or a vent, and out to the door.
What the low battery message actually costs you
More than the inconvenience. A doorbell that is off the wall charging is a doorbell recording nothing, and it is always off the wall at the moment you would have wanted the footage. Constant power is the difference between a camera that watches the door and one that watches it most of the time.
It fits more than doorbells
The output is 24 volts AC at 500 mA, which is also what a good many thermostats want. Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell and Sensi units that need a constant 24 volt supply will run from it. The cable ends in two bare conductors that go straight onto screw terminals.
What it suits
The Ring Video Doorbell, Doorbell 2 and Doorbell Pro, including our bronze and satin nickel doorbells. Input is 230 V AC and the plug is two pin.
If what you need to power is a Ring camera rather than a doorbell, that takes the USB power adapter instead, which is a different connector. To hear the bell indoors, add a Ring Chime. Ring document their doorbells at ring.com.

Questions
Will this stop my doorbell battery going flat?
Yes. Once it is wired to the doorbell terminals the unit is powered continuously, so it no longer has to come off the wall to charge.
Do I need existing doorbell wiring?
No. That is the point of it. It plugs into a normal socket and you run the pair of wires to the doorbell.
How far will it reach?
The cable is 8 m from the plug to the bare ends.
Which doorbells does it suit?
Ring Video Doorbell, Doorbell 2 and Doorbell Pro, and other devices that need constant 24 volt power. It also suits Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell and Sensi thermostats.
How is it connected?
The two bare conductors go onto the two screw terminals on the back of the doorbell. Polarity does not matter on an AC supply.
