About this product
The Hue Lightstrip Plus 2m is Hue in a strip, for the places a bulb cannot go. 1,700 lumens at 4000K, which is brighter than most people expect from a light strip, and the full colour range with it.

Where the Hue Lightstrip Plus 2m goes that a bulb cannot
Under a kitchen counter, so the worktop is lit and the fitting is invisible. Behind a headboard. Along a shelf, around a mirror, up the underside of a stair, behind a television.
The back is adhesive and the strip bends around corners, so it follows a shelf edge or a cabinet without brackets or a channel. That is the whole appeal: light with no visible light fitting.
Brighter than people expect
1,700 lumens at 4000K, which is more than twice what a Hue bulb puts out and enough to be the working light over a counter rather than a decorative glow behind it.
At 2700K it drops to 1,140 lumens, which is the warmer setting most people leave it on in a sitting room. The full white range runs 2000K to 6500K, with 16 million colours on top.
Cutting it down, or extending it out
Two metres too long? It is cuttable at the marked points, and only at those points, so measure to the nearest mark rather than to the centimetre.
Too short? Extension packs take one base kit up to 10 metres in total. The 1 metre extension clips on the end and behaves as part of the same light. Past 10 metres you need a second base kit with its own supply.
What is in the box, and what is not
The power supply is included, which is the difference between a base kit and an extension pack. Its cable is 2.5 metres, so plan where the socket is before you stick anything down.
A Philips Hue Bridge is required for this pack. Without one the strip has no way to be controlled.
Indoors only, and the outdoor alternative
This strip has no weather rating. It is for indoor use, and a wet bathroom or an outdoor wall will kill it.
For a garden wall, a step edge, a pergola or a veranda, the Hue Outdoor Lightstrip is the sealed IP67 version, though it cannot be cut or extended. Philips list the full lightstrip range at philips-hue.com.

Questions
Can I cut it shorter?
Yes. There are marked cut points along the strip and it keeps working after a cut. The offcut cannot be reused.
Can I make it longer?
Yes, with one metre extension packs, up to ten metres in total on one power supply. We sell the one metre extension.
Do I need a Hue Bridge?
Yes for this pack. It carries no Bluetooth badge, so it pairs to a Bridge rather than straight to a phone. We sell the Bridge, so ask us and we will match the two.
Will it stick to my wall?
The back is adhesive and it bends around corners. It holds well on clean, smooth, dry surfaces. Rough plaster and dusty timber are where adhesive strips let go, so wipe the surface down first.
Can it go outside or in a bathroom?
No. This one is for indoors. The Hue Outdoor Lightstrip is the sealed version for rain and dust.
