About this product
The Hue Lightstrip Plus 1m extension adds one metre to a Lightstrip Plus you already own. It clips onto the end of the run and lights up as part of the same strip.

A Hue Lightstrip Plus 1m extension is not a light on its own
The Hue Lightstrip Plus 1m extension has no power supply and no controller in the box. There is nothing in it that can be plugged in and switched on.
It draws power and instructions through a Lightstrip Plus base kit that is already installed. If you do not have one, this is not the product to buy first.
How it joins the run
It clips onto the end of the existing strip with the connector supplied. No soldering, no separate controller, no second entry in the app.
From that point it behaves as part of the same light: the same colours, the same scenes, the same brightness change at the same moment. The app shows one light, not two.
Ten metres is the ceiling per base kit
One base kit will carry extensions up to a total of 10 metres, and that limit is the supply rather than the software.
Past 10 metres you need a second base kit with its own power supply, which then appears as a separate light in the app. Worth knowing before you plan a run around a whole room.
What one extra metre gives you
1,030 lumens at 4000K, drawing 11.5W from the base kit. The strip is 1,000mm long, 15mm wide and 5.5mm thick, the same profile as the base kit so the join is invisible.
It is indoor rated. For anything outside, the sealed outdoor lightstrip is the product, and it cannot be extended at all.
Buy it with the base kit, not after
Most people work out they need the extra metre once the strip is already stuck down and a metre short of the end of the counter. At that point the adhesive backing has been used.
Measure the full run first and order the base kit and the extensions together. If you tell us the length you need we will work out the combination. Philips list the lightstrip range at philips-hue.com.

Questions
Will this work on its own?
No. It has no power supply and no controller. It only lights up when it is joined to a Hue Lightstrip Plus base kit, which is what feeds it.
How many can I add?
Up to a total of ten metres on one base kit, so a two metre base takes eight metres of extension. Past that you need a second base kit.
Does it join to any Hue strip?
It is made for Lightstrip Plus. It does not fit the Outdoor Lightstrip or the Play Gradient strip, which are sealed and cannot be cut or extended.
Does it show as a separate light in the app?
No. The whole run behaves as one light, so a scene lights the base and the extension together.
Can I cut it?
Yes, at the marked points, the same as the base strip.
