About this product
The Aeotec Dual Nano Switch puts two circuits out of one back box, each switched on its own. The ceiling light and the wall lights, or the veranda light and the security lamp, behind the switch plate that is already there.
- What the Aeotec Dual Nano Switch actually gives you
- The per output rating is the number to read
- Z-Wave, so a controller comes first
- Energy measurement, and which version we hold
- Fitting it, and what to tell us
Read this first: it is Z-Wave, not Wi-Fi. A controller is needed and is not included. We sell three that run it: the Fibaro Home Center Lite, the Fibaro Home Center 2 and the Homey Pro.
What the Aeotec Dual Nano Switch actually gives you
Two independent relays in one module. The ceiling light on one output, the wall lights on the other, both wired into the back box that is already there, both still worked by the switches on the plate. It is the tidy answer when two circuits meet at one point and there is no room for two modules.
The per output rating is the number to read
The headline says 10 A for the module. That is the total across both, and it is not the figure your electrician needs. Aeotec publish 5 A per output on resistive loads, 2.5 A per output on inductive loads such as fans and motors, and 1.75 A per output on capacitive loads with 3.5 A across the two together. Most LED lighting is capacitive, so on a pair of LED circuits it is the capacitive figures that apply.
Z-Wave, so a controller comes first
There is no Wi-Fi in this module and no app that talks to it directly. It joins a Z-Wave network, and we sell three controllers that run it: the Fibaro Home Center Lite, the Fibaro Home Center 2 and the Homey Pro. What you get back is a mesh. Every mains powered Z-Wave device passes the signal along, so the network reaches further the more you fit.
Energy measurement, and which version we hold
Aeotec build this module in two forms. The ZW132 reports power and energy per channel; the ZW140 does not. Our supplier sheet does not record which of the two is on the shelf. Ask before you order and we will read the model number off the carton.
Fitting it, and what to tell us
An electrician wires it into the back box behind the existing plate, and both wall switches keep working afterwards. Tell us the two circuits it will run and we will check them against the per output figures rather than the headline.
If one of the two is dimmable lighting, the Aeotec Nano Dimmer is the module for that side. For a single circuit the single channel Nano Switch costs less. Aeotec current range is at aeotec.com.

What’s in the box
Not yet defined.
We are still collecting box contents from the manufacturers. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will open one on the shelf and tell you exactly what is inside.
Questions
Does it measure energy?
That depends which of the two versions is on our shelf. Aeotec make the ZW132 with measurement and the ZW140 without, in the same body, and our supplier sheet does not say. Ask us and we will read the model off the box.
Why are the load figures so much lower than 10 amps?
Because 10 A is the module and the per output figures are what each channel will actually hold: 5 A resistive, 2.5 A inductive, and only 1.75 A capacitive. Most LED lighting is capacitive, so that last one is usually the one that applies. Tell us the two loads and we will work it out with you.
Do I need anything else?
A Z-Wave controller. It will not pair with a phone on its own. The Fibaro Home Center Lite, the Fibaro Home Center 2 and the Homey Pro all run it and we stock all three.
Do both my existing switches still work?
Yes, one per channel, and they behave exactly as they did for anyone who never opens an app.
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
