About this product
A complete wireless security camera system in one box: two wire-free eufyCam 2 cameras and the HomeBase 2 they run on. Nothing else to buy and no monthly fee.
- Why a wireless security camera system lasts a year
- What the HomeBase 2 actually does
- Picture and detection
- Room to grow
- The one limit to know
- Kit or add-on
The cameras have no cables at all. They mount wherever you like, indoors or out, and the battery is rated at a full year per charge, which is the longest eufy makes. Each records 1080p through a Sony Starvis sensor across a wide 140° view, with on-device AI that picks out people rather than reacting to every movement, and two-way audio so you can speak through them. Both are rated IP67.
The HomeBase is where everything is kept. It plugs into your router by cable, holds 16 GB of recordings locally, and does the thinking for the cameras, which is how they get a year of battery out of a single charge. Nothing goes to a cloud you pay for.
Room to grow: one HomeBase 2 handles up to 16 cameras and 16 sensors, so you can add more later with add-on cameras rather than buying another system.
Why a wireless security camera system lasts a year
The cameras in this wireless security camera system have no cables at all, and the battery is rated at a full year per charge, which is the longest eufy make. They mount wherever you like, indoors or out, and both are IP67.
That figure is possible because the thinking happens on the HomeBase rather than in the camera. The camera wakes, records, sends, and goes back to sleep.
What the HomeBase 2 actually does
It plugs into your router by Ethernet and holds 16 GB of recordings locally. Nothing goes to a cloud you pay for and there is no monthly fee.
It is also where the cameras get their range from. They link to the HomeBase rather than to your Wi-Fi, so a camera at the end of a plot is talking to a box indoors rather than fighting for a router signal.
Picture and detection
1080p through a Sony Starvis sensor across a wide 140 degree view, with infrared night vision. On-device AI picks out people rather than reacting to every movement, and two-way audio lets you speak through the camera.
Room to grow
One HomeBase 2 handles up to 16 cameras and 16 sensors. So a two-camera start is not a dead end: adding the back of the house later means buying an add-on camera and pairing it, not buying a second system.
That is worth planning around, because the add-on cameras are considerably cheaper than another kit.
The one limit to know
The 16 GB on the HomeBase 2 is not expandable and there is no card slot. It keeps the recent footage and writes over the older, which for most households is fine.
If you want weeks of history rather than days, the HomeBase 3 systems take a hard drive up to 16 TB and are the honest answer.
Kit or add-on
This is the kit, with the HomeBase in the box. The add-on camera on its own will not work without one, and eufy are blunt about that. eufy list the T8114 at eufy.com.

Questions
Do I need to buy anything else?
No. The two cameras and the HomeBase 2 they need are all in this box, and there is no subscription. The only thing you supply is a spare Ethernet port on your router for the HomeBase.
How long does the battery last?
eufy rates each camera at 365 days per charge, the longest in their range. The cameras stay asleep until something is detected, which is what makes that possible. Busy views will shorten it.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. One HomeBase 2 handles up to 16 cameras and 16 sensors, so you add eufyCam add-on cameras rather than a second system.
Where is footage stored?
On the HomeBase itself, which has 16 GB built in. Nothing goes to a paid cloud. Be aware that this storage cannot be expanded and there is no memory card slot.
Can the cameras go outside?
Yes, they are rated IP67 and specified from minus 20 to plus 50 degrees Celsius. The HomeBase stays indoors and is rated from minus 10 to plus 45.
