About this product
A complete eufyCam 3 solar camera system in one box: two 4K eufyCam S330 cameras and the HomeBase 3 they run on. The cameras are wire-free and mount anywhere, with no cabling to run and no socket needed, and each one carries its own solar panel on top. About two hours of daily sunlight is enough to keep them charged indefinitely; without any sun at all a full battery lasts up to a year.
- Why a eufyCam 3 solar camera needs no wiring
- 4K, in colour, after dark
- The HomeBase 3 is the clever part
- Range, weather and one compatibility rule
- Two cameras, one base
They record in 4K across a 135° view, with 8× zoom, and they see in colour at night rather than only in infrared, helped by a built-in spotlight that comes on with movement. Motion is picked up by radar as well as a PIR sensor, which is what keeps them from firing off alerts every time a shadow moves.
The HomeBase 3 is the clever part. It runs eufy's BionicMind face recognition locally, so over time it learns the difference between the people who live there and someone it has never seen. It also holds the footage: 16 GB built in, and you can fit any 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD to expand that up to 16 TB. Nothing goes to a cloud you have to pay for, and there is no monthly fee.
The cameras are rated IP67 and specified from −20 °C to 50 °C, and they talk to the HomeBase over their own long-range link rather than your Wi-Fi, up to 200 m in the open.
Note: these cameras only work with a HomeBase 3, and one is included here. They will not pair with an older HomeBase 1 or 2.
Why a eufyCam 3 solar camera needs no wiring
Each camera in this eufyCam 3 solar camera kit carries its own panel on top. About two hours of daily sunlight keeps them topped up indefinitely, and with no sun at all a full battery lasts up to a year, so in practice they are fit and forget.
They are wire-free and mount anywhere. No cabling to run, no socket needed, and no drilling through a wall to reach power.
4K, in colour, after dark
They record 4K across a 135 degree view with 8x zoom at f/1.4, and see in colour at night rather than only infrared, helped by a 100 lumen spotlight that comes on with movement.
Motion is picked up by radar as well as a PIR sensor. That pairing is what stops them firing off an alert every time a shadow moves across a wall, which is the usual complaint about outdoor cameras.
The HomeBase 3 is the clever part
It runs eufy BionicMind face recognition locally, so over time it learns the difference between the people who live there and somebody it has never seen. That happens on the box in your house, not on a server somewhere.
It also holds the footage: 16 GB built in, expandable to 16 TB with any 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD. Nothing goes to a cloud you have to pay for and there is no monthly fee.
Range, weather and one compatibility rule
The cameras are IP67 and specified from minus 20 to 50 degrees C. They talk to the HomeBase over their own long-range link rather than your Wi-Fi, up to 200 m in the open, which is why they work at the end of a plot where Wi-Fi does not reach.
The rule: these cameras only work with a HomeBase 3, and one is in this box. They will not pair with an older HomeBase 1 or 2, so an existing eufy owner cannot simply add them to what they have.
Two cameras, one base
The kit is two S330 cameras and the HomeBase 3. If you need more, add-on cameras pair to the same base rather than needing another one. If a single camera is all you need, the SoloCam S220 runs on solar without a base at all. eufy publish the S330 specification at eufy.com.

Questions
Do I need to buy anything else to use this?
No. The cameras cannot work on their own, but the HomeBase 3 they need is included in this kit. Note that these cameras only pair with a HomeBase 3 and will not work with an older HomeBase 1 or 2.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. Footage is stored on the HomeBase 3 itself, which has 16 GB built in. You can fit a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD to expand that up to 16 TB. Nothing is held behind a subscription.
How does the solar charging work?
Each camera has a solar panel built into the top. Around two hours of direct sunlight a day is enough to keep it topped up indefinitely. If a camera gets no sun at all, a full charge lasts up to a year before it needs recharging by cable.
Do they record in colour at night?
Yes. As well as infrared, these cameras have colour night vision, supported by a 100 lumen spotlight that switches on when motion is detected.
Do they need wiring or drilling into power?
No. The cameras are completely wire-free and battery powered, so they mount wherever you like with the supplied screws. Only the HomeBase 3 indoors needs mains power and a network connection.
