About this product
Read this first: a eufyCam 2 add-on camera is not a complete system. eufyCam cameras do not join your Wi-Fi. They talk only to a eufy HomeBase, which is where the recordings are kept and where the intelligence lives. There is no HomeBase in this box. If you do not already own one, this camera will not work at all, and you want the eufyCam 2 system instead.

If you do already have a HomeBase, this is how you extend it. One HomeBase runs up to 16 cameras, so adding a camera to cover the back of the house is a matter of pairing it and mounting it.
The camera itself is completely wire-free. It records 1080p through a Sony Starvis sensor across a wide 140° view, and the battery is rated at a full year per charge, which is the longest in eufy's range. On-device AI picks out people rather than reacting to every movement, and two-way audio lets you speak through it. It is rated IP67, so it lives outside without complaint.
It will not work on its own
Worth being blunt about at the top. A eufyCam 2 add-on camera does not join your Wi-Fi. It talks only to a eufy HomeBase, which is where the recordings are kept and where the intelligence lives, and there is no HomeBase in this box.
If you do not already own one, this camera will do nothing at all and the eufyCam 2 system is what you want instead. We would rather lose the sale than have it arrive and sit in a drawer.
If you already have a HomeBase
Then this is simply how you extend it. One HomeBase runs up to 16 cameras, so covering the back of the house is a matter of pairing this one and mounting it. No new base, no second app, no second system.
It works with the original HomeBase, HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3. It is not compatible with the HomeBase mini, which is the one exception to check.
The eufyCam 2 add-on camera itself
Completely wire-free, recording 1080p through a Sony Starvis sensor across a wide 140 degree view, with infrared night vision. On-device AI picks out people rather than reacting to every movement, and two-way audio lets you speak through it.
It is IP67, so it lives outside without complaint.
A year per charge
The battery is 13,400 mAh and rated up to 365 days per charge, the longest in the eufy range, recharging in about five hours. There is no spotlight on this model, so night footage is infrared black and white.
Storage sits on the HomeBase, not in the camera. On a HomeBase 2 that is 16 GB, not expandable and with no card slot.
Check before ordering
Two things: that you own a HomeBase, and that it is not the mini. Tell us which one you have and we will confirm the pairing. If the answer is that you have none, buy the eufyCam 2 kit instead, which brings its own HomeBase. eufy list this as the T8114 at eufy.com.

Questions
Will this work on its own?
No. This is an add-on camera and there is no HomeBase in the box. eufyCam cameras do not connect to your Wi-Fi at all, they connect only to a eufy HomeBase, which stores the footage. Without one already in the house, this camera cannot be set up. If you are starting from nothing, buy the eufyCam 2 system instead.
Which HomeBase does it work with?
HomeBase, HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3. It does not work with the HomeBase mini. One HomeBase can run up to 16 cameras.
How long does the battery really last?
eufy rates it at 365 days per charge, the longest in their range, helped by the fact that it only wakes when something is detected. Heavy traffic in front of the camera will shorten that.
Where is the footage stored, and is there a fee?
On the HomeBase, not in the camera. A HomeBase 2 holds 16 GB and there is no subscription. Note that this storage cannot be expanded and there is no memory card slot.
Can it go outside?
Yes. It is rated IP67 and specified from minus 20 to plus 50 degrees Celsius.
