About this product

Read this first: the eufyCam 2C Pro add-on is not a complete system. eufyCam cameras do not join your Wi-Fi. They talk only to a eufy HomeBase, which holds the recordings. There is no HomeBase in this box, and eufy is blunt about what that means: the camera alone will not work. If you do not already own one, buy the eufyCam 2C Pro kit instead.

If you already have a HomeBase 2, this is how you add another view. The 2C Pro is the sharper, smaller camera in the eufyCam 2 family: it records 2K rather than 1080p, and it has a spotlight built in, so night footage comes back in colour instead of infrared grey. It is a compact block rather than the long bullet shape of the eufyCam 2.

The battery is rated at about 180 days per charge, on-device AI recognises people by body shape and face pattern, and you can set your own activity zones so a busy street does not trigger it all day. It is rated IP67.

One practical limit worth knowing before you mount it. eufy publishes a working range of roughly 20 to 30 feet between camera and HomeBase. In a compound where the HomeBase sits indoors and the camera goes on a perimeter wall, measure that distance before you buy.

Not a system on its own

The same warning as the other add-ons, and it matters just as much here. eufyCam cameras do not join your Wi-Fi. They talk only to a eufy HomeBase, which holds the recordings, and there is no HomeBase in this box.

eufy are blunt about what that means: the camera alone will not work. If you do not already own a base, buy the eufyCam 2C Pro kit instead and we will point you at it.

What the eufyCam 2C Pro add-on gives you over the eufyCam 2

It is the sharper, smaller camera in the family. It records 2K rather than 1080p, and it has a spotlight built in, so night footage comes back in colour instead of infrared grey.

Physically it is a compact block rather than the long bullet shape of the eufyCam 2, which matters if it is going somewhere visible. Through Apple HomeKit it records at 1080p rather than 2K, which is a HomeKit limitation rather than a camera one.

Battery and detection

6,700 mAh, rated about 180 days per charge, so roughly twice a year rather than the eufyCam 2 once. On-device AI recognises people by body shape and face pattern, and you can set your own activity zones so a busy street does not trigger it all day.

Motion detection reaches about 8 to 10 m. It is IP67.

Measure the distance before you mount it

This is the practical limit that catches people. eufy publish a working range of roughly 6 to 9 m between camera and HomeBase, and that is through whatever walls are in between.

In a compound where the HomeBase sits indoors and the camera is going on a perimeter wall, pace that distance out before you order. If it is further, a SoloCam that talks straight to your Wi-Fi is the better shape of product.

Before you add one

Confirm you have a HomeBase 2 or 3, and that the mounting point is within range of it. Tell us both and we will say whether this or a standalone camera fits. If you have no HomeBase at all, start with the 2C Pro kit instead; eufy list this as the T8142 at eufy.com.

Questions

Will this work on its own?

No. There is no HomeBase in this box, and eufy states plainly that the camera alone will not work. eufyCam cameras never join your Wi-Fi, they connect only to a eufy HomeBase. If you do not already have one, buy the eufyCam 2C Pro kit instead.

How far can it be from the HomeBase?

eufy publishes a working range of roughly 6 to 9 metres between camera and HomeBase. That is the figure people most often get caught by, so if the HomeBase sits indoors and the camera is going on a perimeter wall, pace out the distance first.

How is it different from the eufyCam 2?

It records 2K instead of 1080p and it has a spotlight, so night footage comes back in colour rather than infrared grey. It is also physically smaller, a compact block rather than a long bullet. The trade is battery life: about 180 days per charge against the eufyCam 2's 365.

Where is footage stored, and is there a fee?

On the HomeBase, not in the camera, and there is no subscription. A HomeBase 2 holds 16 GB, which cannot be expanded, and there is no card slot.

Can it go outside?

Yes. It is rated IP67 and specified from minus 20 to plus 50 degrees Celsius.
