What the Govee Immersion Pro kit has that the plain kit does not
Two light bars. The standard Immersion kit is a strip behind the screen and a camera. This one adds a bar standing at each side of the television, wired into the same system and driven by the same camera.
The difference is where the colour lands. A strip alone throws light onto the wall directly behind the screen. Add the bars and colour spills out sideways into the room as well, which is what makes the picture feel like it extends past the frame rather than stopping at it.
RGBIC, and why it matters on both parts
RGBIC means the strip carries a spread of different colours along its length at the same time, and each bar does the same up its height.
An ordinary RGB strip is one colour end to end. On a television that is nearly useless, because a picture is never one colour. RGBIC is what lets a blue sky at the top and a red car on the left appear in the right places.
The camera reads the screen, not the cable
The camera clips to the top of the television and is calibrated once using the orange squares in the box. From then on it watches the picture and drives the lights from what it sees.
Because it reads the screen rather than an HDMI signal, the source makes no difference. A decoder, a console, a streaming stick or an app built into the television all work identically, and there is no box to route cables through.
Check the size before ordering
This kit is sized for 55 to 65 inch televisions. The strip is 3.8 metres, cut to run around the back of a screen in that range.
On a smaller set you will have strip left over with nowhere to go, and on a larger one it will not reach the last corner. Measure the television rather than estimating from across the room.
Which Govee TV kit to buy
Take this one if you want the fullest effect and have room for a bar at each side of the screen. It runs on Wi-Fi through the Govee Home app with Alexa and Google, from a 12V adapter, and there is no subscription.
If the bars would be in the way or the budget is tighter, the plain Immersion backlight is the same strip and camera without them. If you want bars alone for a desk or a monitor, the Flow Pro bars come with their own camera. Govee list the range at govee.com.

Questions
Will it fit my television?
This kit is cut for 55 to 65 inch screens. Tell us your size and we will confirm before you order, because a strip that is too short leaves a dark corner and one that is too long has to be doubled back.
How does it follow the picture?
The camera clips to the top of the screen and watches it. Colours from the edges of the image go out to the strip and the bars, so the whole wall moves with what you are watching.
What are the small squares for?
Calibration. They stick to the corners of the screen once so the camera learns where the picture begins and ends, then they come off.
Does it work with a decoder, a console and a streaming stick?
Yes, all of them. The camera reads what is on the screen, so the source makes no difference.
What is the difference between this and the plain camera kit?
This one adds the two light bars for either side of the television. The plain kit is the strip and camera only.
