Check the generation before ordering an Echo Dot wall mount

This fits the Echo Dot 3rd generation and other small round speakers of a similar size. It does not fit the 2nd generation Dot, and the Dots we currently sell are 5th generation with a different body. Establish which one you have first. It is a two second check and it saves a return.

The cable reel is the whole idea

Plenty of things will hold a speaker on a wall. What makes this one worth having is the reel on the back: the power lead winds around it so nothing dangles down the wall. In a kitchen that means no cord across a worktop for somebody to catch with a sleeve. In a bathroom it means the lead is not hanging where water goes. That is the difference between a speaker mounted on a wall and a speaker mounted on a wall neatly.

Held clear of the surface, so it sounds better

The Dot clips in vertically and sits proud of the wall, which lets sound out on all sides instead of firing half of it into a shelf. It also keeps the microphone ring level, so the speaker hears the room evenly rather than favouring whatever it is lying against.

No screws, no screwdriver

It goes up without drilling and without tools, which matters in a rented flat, on tiles, or anywhere you would rather not make holes. The speaker and its plug are not included.

The alternatives

If the Dot is staying on a desk, the Echo Dot desk stand tilts it at 105 degrees. To get it out of reach of children and pets entirely, the Echo Dot ceiling mount is a steel bracket that takes an adhesive pad or screws.
