Why a Zigbee smart bulb E27 rather than a Wi-Fi one
Every Wi-Fi bulb takes a slot on your router. Ten of them, plus phones, laptops and a television, is where a home network starts dropping devices in ways that are miserable to diagnose.
Zigbee bulbs take none of those slots. They talk to a gateway instead, and because every mains-powered Zigbee device repeats the signal onward, the network gets stronger as you add to it rather than more crowded. A house being built out room by room is exactly the case for this bulb.
You must have a gateway, and it is not in the box
There is no Wi-Fi radio in this bulb at all. Without a Zigbee gateway it screws in, lights up when the wall switch is on, and does nothing else.
We stock them: the Zigbee Tuya Gateway is the straightforward one, and the HomeKit Zigbee gateway is the one to take if the household runs on iPhones and you want the bulbs in Apple Home.
It lands beside everything else you own
Once paired it appears in the Tuya or Smart Life app alongside your Zigbee sensors, switches, plugs and curtain motors.
That is the practical payoff. A door sensor can turn this bulb on, a wall switch can set a scene across several of them, and none of it involves a second app or a cloud service talking to another cloud service.
Colour, white and dimming
16 million colours and tunable white from 2700K warm to 6500K cool daylight, in a standard E27 screw fitting, 60mm across and 114mm tall.
Dimming runs from the app across the whole range. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant work through the gateway rather than talking to the bulb directly.
Two figures, stated as we find them
The manufacturer panel for this bulb states 9W, which is about the light of an old 60W incandescent. Lumens are not published for it at all.
We are not going to invent the missing figure. Ask us and we will read whatever is printed on the bulb in stock. If you want one bulb rather than a house full, the Wi-Fi version needs no gateway and is the cheaper way to start. Tuya, whose platform these bulbs run on, publish their documentation at tuya.com.

Questions
Do I need a gateway?
Yes, and there is not one in the box. This bulb speaks Zigbee only, so without a gateway on your network it will not appear in any app. We sell the gateways, so ask us and we will put the two together.
Why buy this rather than the Wi-Fi bulb?
For one lamp, do not: buy the Wi-Fi one. For a house, this is the better build. Zigbee bulbs keep off your router and each mains powered one repeats the signal onward, so the network gets stronger with every light you add.
Will it work with Alexa or Google?
Yes, both, through the gateway once it is set up in Tuya or Smart Life.
Does it work if the internet is down?
The gateway keeps the Zigbee network running, and the app on a phone in the house still reaches it. Only control from outside the house needs the internet.
Will it fit my lamp?
E27 is the common large screw fitting, so it goes into most pendants, table lamps and holders here without an adapter.
