Who buys the WiFi touch switch silver frame
People whose rooms already have chrome or brushed metal in them. Door handles, tap fittings, the edge of a mirror, a kitchen with stainless appliances. In those rooms a plain white plate is the one thing on the wall with no metal in it, and it shows. The silver frame around the glass gives the switch something in common with everything else you have already chosen.
It is a finish, not a different switch
Inside it is the same touch panel as the plain white version: joins Wi-Fi on its own, no hub, no gateway, Smart Life app, schedules, scenes, Alexa and Google Assistant. So this is a decision about the room rather than about capability, and you are not paying for the frame with any function.
Ask us the gang count before ordering
We do not hold every gang count in every finish, and the silver frame is the one where the stock varies most. Tell us how many buttons the existing plate has and we will say what we have in this finish, or how long it takes to get. It is a short conversation and it avoids the wrong plate arriving.
The wiring, as always
A neutral wire at the switch box is required, because a mains powered smart switch has to stay alive when the circuit it controls is off. A great deal of the older wiring here does not bring the neutral to the plate. Have your electrician take the cover off and look before you order anything in this range.

The button count and a photograph of the inside of the back box. Those two answers cover both the gang count and the neutral.
In plain white glass without the frame, the same switch is the 1 gang, 2 gang or 3 gang. In black there is the 4 gang black. It lives in the Smart Life app, which is a free download.

Ask us. The silver frame is made across the range and we do not always hold every gang count at once.
Do I need a neutral wire?
Yes. Many older switch boxes here have only the live and the switched live, so ask your electrician to open the plate and look before you order.
Do I need a hub?
No. It joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on its own.
Will it still work if the internet is down?
The panel still switches the lights by hand. The app and voice control need the connection.
Who fits it?
A licensed electrician. It replaces the existing switch in the wall box.
