About this product
A SONOFF touch switch in black glass, and the important thing to know is that it runs on eWeLink, SONOFF's own app, not the same app as most of the other switches we sell.
- Read this first: a SONOFF touch switch uses a different app
- The 433 MHz receiver is the thing the others do not have
- Timers that go beyond a schedule
- The panel and the approvals
- What it needs
A neutral wire is required at the switch box, and the router must be 2.4 GHz. Your phone can be on anything.
Read this first: a SONOFF touch switch uses a different app
It runs on eWeLink, which is SONOFF own app, not the Smart Life app that most of the other switches on this site use. That is not a fault, it is a fork in the road. If you already have Smart Life devices, this switch will sit in a second app and will not share scenes with them. If you are starting from nothing, or already have SONOFF relays, eWeLink is the app to standardise on. Decide which side you are on before ordering.
The 433 MHz receiver is the thing the others do not have
Inside this switch is a radio receiver as well as Wi-Fi. Pair a 433 MHz remote to it and the switch keeps working with the internet down, the router off, or the power cut to everything except the lighting circuit. In a city where the line drops and the power flickers, having a second path to the light that does not depend on a network is a real advantage rather than a specification line.
Timers that go beyond a schedule
Single, repeat, countdown and loop. The loop timer is the one worth knowing about: a security light can run a pattern through the night rather than sit on from dusk to dawn, which looks more like somebody being in the house and uses less electricity doing it. Scenes let one SONOFF trigger another, or run a group on one tap.
The panel and the approvals
Electric shock proof glass on a fire retardant polycarbonate housing, CE, RoHS and FCC marked, with a one year SONOFF warranty. Black glass, so it suits a dark wall and the lit touch points show up well against it at night.
What it needs
A neutral wire at the switch box, and a router broadcasting on 2.4 GHz. Your phone can be on anything, but the switch itself will not see a 5 GHz network, which catches people out on newer routers that hide both bands behind one name.
The 433 MHz remote is sold separately: our RF wireless remote pairs to it. For a black glass switch on the Smart Life app instead, see the WiFi touch switch 4 gang black. SONOFF list the range at sonoff.tech.

Questions
Which app does it use?
eWeLink, which is SONOFF's own. It is not the same app as most of the other switches we sell, so plan for a second app on the phone if you are mixing brands.
What is the RF for?
A 433 MHz remote pairs to the switch and works without any network at all. Useful when the power or the router is unreliable. The remote is sold separately.
Do I need a neutral wire?
Yes, SONOFF say so themselves. Ask your electrician to open the plate and check before you order.
Will it join my 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No. The switch needs the 2.4 GHz band. Your phone can be on anything.
Who fits it?
A licensed electrician. It replaces the existing switch in the wall box.
