The card is included and already imaged
A 64GB microSD card comes preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS. There is nothing to download and nothing to flash: put the card in, connect a screen and a keyboard, and it boots.
A USB card reader is in the box too, for when you want to reimage it later or write a different operating system to it. That is the difference between this and the basic kit, and for anyone who has not used the Raspberry Pi Imager before it is worth the money on its own.
What a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB complete kit will run
Home Assistant for a whole house of devices. A Pi-hole filtering adverts for the entire network. A media server, a print server for an old printer with no Wi-Fi, or a retro games machine.
Several of those at once, in fact. The 8GB board is the top of the Pi 4 range and the headroom is the reason to take it over the 2GB and 4GB versions, which run out of memory as soon as you ask them to do two jobs.
The clear case, and cooling that actually works
The case is clear, so the board is visible while it runs, which is half the appeal for anyone building this as a project rather than as an appliance.
Cooling is handled properly rather than decoratively: a fan is already installed in the case, and a set of heatsinks with thermal pads goes on the hot chips. A Pi 4 throttles itself back when it gets hot, and in Dar it gets hot quickly, so this is what keeps it at full speed when it is busy.
Ports, screens and power
Two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0. Gigabit ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi on 2.4 and 5GHz, and Bluetooth 5.0. Two micro HDMI outputs will drive two 4K screens at 60Hz, and a micro HDMI to HDMI cable is in the box.
The 40-pin GPIO header is there for wiring things up to it. Power is 5V 3A over USB-C, and the supply has an inline on/off switch rather than making you pull the plug every time.
What is not in the box
A keyboard, mouse and monitor are not included, and you will need all three for the first boot even if the Pi ends up running headless afterwards. A neoprene zip bag holds the whole kit when it is not in use.
If you already have microSD cards and are comfortable with the Raspberry Pi Imager, the black aluminium basic kit is the same 8GB board without the card, in a metal case. Vilros are the kit maker and their site is vilros.com.

Questions
Do I need to buy a memory card?
No, this kit includes a 64 GB card already imaged with Raspberry Pi OS, so it boots the moment you power it on. There is also a USB card reader in the box for when you want to reimage it later. The black kit we sell does not include a card, which is the main difference between them.
What can I actually do with it?
With 8 GB of RAM, a great deal. Home Assistant running a whole house of devices, Pi-hole filtering adverts for the whole network, a media server, a print server for a printer with no Wi-Fi, a retro games machine, or a small desktop computer. It is genuinely a computer, not a toy.
Will it get hot?
Not with this kit. The case has a fan already fitted and there is a set of heatsinks with thermal pads in the box. That is what keeps a Pi 4 running at full speed instead of slowing itself down when it gets busy.
What else do I need?
A keyboard, a mouse and a monitor, none of which are included. Everything else, the power supply, the cable, the card and the case, is in the box. If you are running it headless as a server, you do not even need those.
How do I get a picture on a screen?
The micro HDMI to HDMI cable in the box goes to any normal monitor or television. There are two micro HDMI outputs on the board, so it will drive two screens at once, up to 4K each.
