About this product
A micro SD card 64GB, for local camera storage or more room on a phone. SanDisk Ultra. Drop it into a security camera and the camera records to the card, which means footage keeps saving whether or not the internet is up, and there is nothing to pay monthly.

What capacity really decides on a camera
How far back you can look. A security camera records in a loop and overwrites the oldest footage when the card fills, so the card size is the length of your history and nothing else. A micro SD card 64GB holds roughly twice what a 32 GB one does, which in practice is the difference between finding out on Monday what happened on Saturday night, and finding that it has already been written over.
A micro SD card 64GB is microSDXC, so check your camera
This is a 64 GB card, which makes it microSDXC rather than the microSDHC format that tops out at 32 GB. Most cameras sold in the last several years take SDXC without any trouble, but older units and some cheaper ones do not, and the symptom is a card the camera simply refuses to see. If the manual is gone and you cannot be sure, the 32 GB card is the safe purchase.
The middle size is usually the right buy
Between the three, this is the one most people should take. It doubles the history over a 32 GB card for a modest difference in price, and it avoids the compatibility questions that occasionally attach to the largest size. For a single camera watching a gate or a corridor, 64 GB is a sensible week or more depending on how much movement it sees.
Speed and heat
Class 10 and UHS Speed Class U1, which is the sustained write speed continuous video recording needs, plus the A1 rating for app loading if the card ends up in a phone. It runs from -25 to 85 degrees Celsius, so a camera baking on an outside wall is well within tolerance.
Before you use it
Format the card inside the camera rather than on a computer. Cameras write their own structure and formatting in the device is what avoids the not recognised messages that follow otherwise.
For maximum compatibility with older cameras, the 32 GB card; for the longest history, the 128 GB. Wikipedia sets out the difference between SDHC and SDXC.

Questions
Will it work in my security camera?
Yes, in any camera that takes a microSD card of this capacity. Format it in the camera before first use.
Do I still need a cloud subscription?
Not for local recording. The camera writes to the card, so footage is saved even when the internet drops.
Can I use it in a phone?
Yes. It is A1 rated, which is the class for running and loading apps from the card.
How long will it record for?
That depends on the camera resolution and whether it records all the time or only on motion. Most cameras loop, overwriting the oldest footage when the card is full.
Is an adapter included?
It is the microSD card. If you need to read it in a laptop, use a card reader or an SD adapter.
