Fibaro Door / Window Sensor

The Fibaro Door/Window Sensor 2 is a wireless, battery-powered Z-Wave Plus contact sensor designed for doors, windows, garage gates, and roller blinds. Combining a magnetic Hall effect contact with an internal temperature sensor in a single slim casing, it tells your smart home controller whether an opening is open or closed while simultaneously monitoring ambient room temperature.

Opening Detection and Automation

The sensor operates using magnetic separation. When the sensor body and the magnet separate, the unit detects the change and immediately sends a status signal to your Z-Wave gateway. This lets you configure automated security alerts, turn off air conditioning units when windows are opened, or trigger welcoming lights when entering through an exterior door.

Integrated Temperature Sensing

A built-in temperature sensor monitors room conditions across a measuring range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.5 degrees Celsius. By relaying live temperature updates to your hub, it allows automated climate control adjustments without requiring a separate, dedicated room thermometer on your wall.

Mounting and Tamper Security

Mounting is straightforward using pre-applied adhesive tape or countersunk screws (screws not included). The magnet must be positioned no further than 5 mm from the sensor body with marks aligned. For physical security, dual tamper switches immediately detect and report if the cover is opened or if the unit is pulled off its mounting surface.

Network Requirements

This device requires a compatible Z-Wave or Z-Wave Plus gateway (such as a Fibaro Home Center 3, Home Center 3 Lite, or Yubii Home) to operate. It supports AES-128 encryption when paired in secure mode. As a battery-operated endpoint powered by an included half-AA cell, it sleeps to conserve power and does not function as a Z-Wave signal repeater.
