Why choose the Zigbee 4 button scene switch black
Because of the wall behind it. On dark timber, a deep painted wall or a black feature panel, a white scene switch is the loudest thing in the room and the eye goes straight to it. Black sits back. And since this one is stuck on rather than let into the wall, it is more visible than a normal plate to begin with, which makes the colour choice matter more here than on a recessed switch.
Twelve instructions from four buttons
Single press, double press and hold on each of the four. That is twelve scenes, and the sensible way to set them up is four obvious ones on the single presses, with the doubles and holds kept for things you use weekly rather than daily. Away, home, film, everything off is where most households land.
It is a controller, and it has no relay
Nothing is switched by this device itself. It sends instructions to other Tuya devices, which do the switching. So it is bought as half of a pair, never alone, and if there is nothing else on your Zigbee system yet then this is not the thing to buy first.
The voice assistants, stated plainly
The manufacturer lists it as not working with Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, Hubitat or Siri. The scenes are built and fired inside the Smart Life app. If you were planning to say the scene names out loud to a speaker, this switch will not do it and we would rather you knew that now.
What it needs
A Tuya Zigbee hub, not included: the Tuya Zigbee gateway or the one with an IR blaster. And something to control, such as a Zigbee relay behind a light fitting.
The same switch in white is the 4 button scene switch. It runs about 730 days on a coin cell, which is not included, and it is 13 mm thick. The Zigbee standard is described at csa-iot.org.

Does it switch the lights itself?
No. It has no relay. It tells other devices in your Tuya system what to do, so you need those devices and a hub first.
How do four buttons give twelve scenes?
Each button understands a single press, a double press and a hold, and each of those can run a different scene.
Do I have to wire it in?
No, and that is the point. It tapes to the wall wherever a switch should have been, including on glass or tile.
Is the battery included?
No. It takes a coin cell and runs about 730 days on one.
Do I need a hub?
Yes, a Tuya Zigbee hub, and it is not in the box. We sell them.
