About this product
Read this first: this is a roller blind tube motor, not a finished blind. If you want a complete motorised roller blind, a blind maker builds one around this motor, or you fit it into a roller blind you already own. Everything that is and is not in the box is set out below.
- What a roller blind tube motor is, and what it is not
- Tube diameter is the question to settle first
- Mains power, and what that buys
- Control without a bridge
- One honest gap, and the alternative
What a roller blind tube motor is, and what it is not
It is the long metal cylinder that slides inside the roller tube of a blind and turns it. That is the entire product. There is no tube, no fabric, no brackets and no end caps in the box.
Two kinds of buyer are in the right place here: someone having a blind made and specifying the motor, and someone fitting a motor into a roller blind that already hangs. Anyone expecting a boxed blind to hang the same afternoon is not, and we would rather say so on this page than after the delivery.
Tube diameter is the question to settle first
This class of motor ships with crowns and drive adaptors to suit different roller tubes, and the right combination depends on the tube you are fitting into. Get it wrong and the motor spins inside the tube without turning it.
Measure the internal diameter of your tube and send us the figure. We will confirm the fit rather than guess at it, and it takes one message.
Mains power, and what that buys
It runs off mains rather than a battery, so it never needs charging and never runs flat halfway through a morning. On a blind that moves twice a day for years, that is the difference between a system you forget about and one that becomes a chore.
The trade is a cable. There has to be a socket near the head of the blind, or an electrician has to put one there before the blind goes up.
Control without a bridge
The Wi-Fi radio is inside the motor, so it pairs straight to the Tuya or Smart Life app with no hub or bridge to buy. It holds up to thirty schedules repeating daily or weekly, and answers to Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
Top and bottom stop points are set with the remote and then remembered, so the blind lands in the same place every time.
One honest gap, and the alternative
We have not found a manufacturer statement about whether the blind can be moved by hand during a power cut, so assume it cannot until we can tell you otherwise. In Dar that matters more than it would elsewhere, and we are not going to guess on your behalf.
If that gap bothers you, or if you do not want a blind maker involved at all, a chain driver is the alternative: the Wi-Fi blind motor clips beside a blind you already own and pulls its chain, with no tube, no fabric and no wiring. The app both of them use is documented at tuya.com.

Questions
Am I buying a complete blind?
No, and this is the important question. You are buying the motor that goes inside the roller tube. The tube itself, the fabric, the brackets and the end caps are not included. Either a blind maker builds a blind around it, or you fit it into a roller blind you already have. If you want a finished motorised blind, talk to us and we will tell you what the whole job costs.
Does it need a hub or a bridge?
No. The Wi-Fi is inside the motor, so it joins your network directly and runs through the Tuya or Smart Life app with Alexa, Google and Siri on top. There is nothing else to buy on the smart side.
Will it fit my roller tube?
That depends on the tube's internal diameter, and this class of motor comes with different crowns and adaptors for different tubes. Measure the inside of your tube, or tell us what blind you have, and we will confirm the fit before anything is ordered. We would rather answer a WhatsApp message than take back a motor that does not go in.
What happens in a power cut?
It stops where it is. It runs on mains rather than a battery, which is why it never needs charging, but it also means no power means no movement. We have not found a manufacturer statement about moving the blind by hand while the power is off, so please assume you cannot until we can tell you otherwise.
How do I set where it stops?
With the remote. You drive the blind to the top position and store it, then to the bottom and store that, and from then on it lands in the same place every time. It survives a power cut, so you do not have to redo it after every outage.
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
