About this product
An 8m smart curtain track supplied complete: aluminium track, drive motor, runners and a handheld remote. It runs to a schedule, answers the phone from anywhere, and takes voice commands through Alexa or Google Home. The Wi-Fi radio is built into the motor, so nothing else has to be bought to make it work.
- Who buys an 8m smart curtain track
- Fabric weight is the thing to get right on a long run
- One motor, one continuous run
- Before you commit to eight metres
It also starts on a hand pull. Touch the curtain and the motor takes the rest of the run, which on eight metres is the difference between a system staff will use and one they will work around.
On sizing, which is where these orders go wrong. The track is adjustable aluminium and the drive belt is cut to your figure during the fit, so buying long is safe and buying short is not. There is no extension piece, and no way to add a metre later. Measure the full travel including the stack at both ends and round up. Eight metres is the longest tier we hold.
Centre opening is the usual choice at this length, though a single sweep to one end is possible if the room can take the stack. Either way it is set during the fit. Ceiling and wall brackets are both in the box, and corner pieces for a run that turns are ordered separately, so say so upfront if the glass wraps around.
It runs from an ordinary socket, so a power point has to exist at one end of the track before the fitter arrives. And in a cut, the curtains still draw by hand, which matters more in a restaurant or an office than it does at home.
Who buys an 8m smart curtain track
Eight metres is not a domestic bedroom size. It goes on full glass frontages, double-height sitting rooms, restaurant and hotel dining areas, boardrooms and showroom windows. If the wall is glass from one corner to the other, this is the tier.
It is also the answer when a client wants one continuous sweep instead of two separate tracks meeting in the middle. A single run with one motor looks like architecture. Two runs that nearly line up look like a compromise, and they never quite start together.
Fabric weight is the thing to get right on a long run
Eight metres of lined curtain is heavy, and weight is what kills cheap motorised tracks. Brackets go closer together on a run this long, roughly every metre and tighter still where the track carries blackout or heavy lining.
Talk to us about the fabric before you order, not after it is made up. The track handles ordinary domestic curtaining comfortably; very heavy commercial drapes are a conversation, not an assumption.
One motor, one continuous run
The whole eight metres is driven by the single motor at one end. Overload protection stops it if a runner jams or somebody leans on the curtain, rather than dragging the belt against the obstruction.
Schedules, phone control from anywhere, Alexa and Google all behave the same as on the shorter tracks. The Wi-Fi is inside the motor, so an eight metre installation still needs nothing but a socket.
Before you commit to eight metres
Measure the full travel including the stack at each end, then check there is a socket within reach of where the motor will sit. On a commercial fit that socket is usually the item that delays everything, so raise it early.
If the number comes back nearer six, the 6 metre track is the same system and less to trim off. Smaller domestic windows are covered by the 4 metre version. Voice control runs through Google Home or Alexa.

Questions
How do I know which length to buy?
Measure the full width you want the curtains to travel, including how far they should overlap past the window on each side, then take the next tier up. The track adjusts down on site and the belt is trimmed during the fit, so a little spare is fine. What it cannot do is stretch, so a track shorter than your window is money wasted. Send us the measurement on WhatsApp and we will tell you which one to take.
Can it open from the middle?
Yes. It can be set up as a single opening, one curtain pulling to one side, or as a pair that parts in the middle. That is decided during installation rather than at the time of ordering, so you are not committing to one now.
Do I need a hub?
No. The Wi-Fi is inside the motor, so it joins your network directly. The app, the schedules, Alexa and Google all work with nothing else bought. The remote is in the box too, for anyone in the house who is not going to use a phone.
What happens when the power goes off?
You pull the curtains by hand, as normal. Nothing locks and nothing has to be released first. When the power comes back the motor picks up where it was.
What about a bay window or a curved run?
It handles both, but the corner pieces are a separate item from the track itself. Tell us the shape of your window and how many corners it turns and we will quote the whole thing rather than leave you a piece short on fitting day.
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
