A smart twin wall socket switches each outlet alone
This is what makes a smart twin wall socket worth more than a double adaptor with one radio in it.
Put a television on one outlet and a router on the other. Now you can reboot the router at three in the morning on a schedule without touching the television, or cut the television at bedtime and leave the router alone. Each outlet appears separately in the app, with its own timers, countdowns and scenes.
Wired in, and what that involves
It replaces the socket in your wall. It needs an electrician and a live and neutral supply, and the front plate is glass, so the box behind it wants to be sound rather than cracked plaster.
It is 150 x 90 x 38.3mm, which is a double-gang face. Check what is in the wall now before ordering: a twin socket needs a twin box, and converting a single box is a bigger job than swapping a face plate.
USB-A and USB-C, sharing one supply
One of each, which covers both an older cable and a modern phone or laptop lead.
The output is 5V 2.1A shared between the two ports, not per port. Two phones will charge steadily rather than quickly, and that is the honest description. If fast charging matters, put the phone on its own charger in one of the outlets and use the USB ports for everything else.
Touch rings, so it works without a phone
Each outlet has its own touch ring on the glass face, and each switches that outlet by hand.
With the internet down, or with a guest in the room who is not on your app, it behaves like an ordinary socket. Standby draw is under 0.5W, which over a year is negligible.
Check the load before you order
Rated 13A with a maximum load of 2500W, on AC 100 to 250V.
Inductive loads are limited to under 2000W, and that is the figure that matters for a motor, a pump or a compressor rather than the headline 2500. A fridge or a water pump should be checked against that number, not against the 13A.
It runs the Tuya or Smart Life app with no hub, on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, with Alexa and Google Assistant. If one outlet is enough, the single socket costs less and adds Quick Charge 3.0 on one of its USB ports. Have your electrician read the Smart Life setup steps first; the app is a free download from Google Play.

Questions
Can I fit this myself?
No. It is a wired socket, not a plug-in adaptor. It replaces the socket in your wall and has to be connected to live, neutral and earth in the back box by a qualified electrician. We supply the socket only.
Will it fit my wall box?
The plate is 150 by 90 mm, which is a two gang size, so it needs a double box rather than a single one. Send us a photograph of the existing socket taken square on with a tape measure across it and we will tell you before you buy.
Do the two sockets really switch separately?
Yes. They appear as two devices in the app and each has its own touch ring on the glass, so you can schedule one and leave the other alone. That is the main reason to choose this over the single socket.
What is the 2500 W limit about, when it says 13 A?
13 A is what the outlets are rated to carry, and 2500 W is what the manufacturer publishes as the maximum load. On motors, pumps and compressors they publish under 2000 W, because a motor pulls a surge every time it starts. Tell us what you are running and we will check it against the plate rating.
How fast will it charge two phones?
Steadily rather than quickly. The USB-A and the USB-C share 5 V at 2.1 A between them, so two phones at once each get about half. It is right for overnight charging beside a bed and wrong for a fast top up before you leave.
