Why anybody chooses a WiFi push switch over a touch panel

Because it clicks. A real rocker gives you the feedback a glass panel cannot, and in a house where not everybody is enthusiastic about the smart home project, that matters more than any feature. Older relatives, house staff, small children and guests all know what to do with a rocker and nobody has to be told that a flat piece of glass is a switch. The wiring question

A neutral wire at the switch box is required, as with every mains powered smart switch: it has to stay alive when the circuit it controls is off. Older wiring in this city often runs only the live and the switched live to the plate, so have the cover taken off and checked first.
