The SONOFF Micro USB smart adaptor is not a mains plug
There is no pin on it. A SONOFF Micro USB smart adaptor needs a USB port to live in: a charger, a power bank, the USB socket on a wall plate, or an extension lead.
It is USB Type-A on both ends, male in and female out, and it sits between a USB supply and a USB device. If what you want to switch has a three-pin plug, this is the wrong product and a Wi-Fi smart plug is the right one.
What it is genuinely good for
A USB desk lamp. A USB fan. A small aquarium pump. A strip of USB fairy lights. A USB water pump.
Anything you would like to run on a timer without unplugging it every night. These are devices nobody makes a smart version of, and this is the only way to schedule them without cutting a cable.
It is a switch, not a charger
It passes through up to 5V at 2.5A for a device that simply draws power. For charging it follows the BC 1.2 rule and caps at 1A, so a phone behind it will charge slowly.
That is the one thing to understand before ordering. Put your phone on the charger directly and use this for the things you actually want to automate. Nothing in the app changes that limit.
The app and what it works with
It runs on eWeLink, which is SONOFF's own app rather than Tuya or Smart Life. That means it lives in its own app rather than beside the rest of the Tuya kit in this shop, which is worth knowing if you are building one system.
It works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Samsung SmartThings and Yandex Alice. No hub is needed, but the Wi-Fi has to be 2.4GHz.
Size and build
38 x 33 x 52mm and 25g, so it is the smallest smart switch we sell by a distance. The housing is PC V0 flame retardant, and it is CE and FCC marked.
Because it is small and light it will hang off a charger rather than sit flat, so on a wall-mounted USB socket check there is room below it for the device you are plugging in. SONOFF publish their range at sonoff.tech.

Questions
Does it plug into the wall?
Not on its own. It has a USB plug, not mains pins, so it needs a USB charger, a power bank, or the USB port on a socket or extension lead to sit in. Then the USB device plugs into it.
Can I use it to charge my phone on a timer?
You can, but slowly. For charging it holds to 1 A, which is well below what a modern phone wants. It is meant for USB things that just run, like a lamp, a fan or a small pump, rather than for fast charging.
What can I run through it?
Anything USB that draws up to 5 V and 2.5 A: desk lamps, fans, fairy lights, small aquarium and water pumps, a humidifier. Check the label on your device first if you are not sure.
Which app does it use?
eWeLink, which is SONOFF's own. It is not the same app as most of the other smart plugs we sell, so if the rest of your house is already set up you will have a second app on the phone. Voice control still works through Alexa or Google, so a spoken command reaches everything either way.
Will it work on my Wi-Fi?
If your network has a 2.4 GHz band, yes. It does not use 5 GHz. Pair it from a phone connected to the 2.4 GHz network or the setup will not complete.
