About this product
A WiFi touch switch RF 2 gang, with a 433 MHz receiver built in. That second radio is the whole reason to buy this one instead of the plain version: when the Wi-Fi is down, an RF remote still works the lights.
- The second radio is the entire reason to buy this one
- A remote that reaches the far end of the house
- The WiFi touch switch RF 2 gang gives two devices in the app
- What it is made of
- The wiring, and the remote
The rest is the usual: Smart Life with no hub, Alexa and Google Assistant, timers, scenes and sharing.
The second radio is the entire reason to buy this one
A WiFi touch switch RF 2 gang has a 433 MHz receiver alongside the Wi-Fi. When the line is down, the router is off or the power has just come back and nothing has reconnected yet, an RF remote still works the lights. Every other smart switch in this range goes deaf in those conditions and leaves you pressing the panel. In this city that is not a hypothetical.
A remote that reaches the far end of the house
It pairs with any 433 MHz transmitter, so one handheld by the bed can run switches at the other end of the building with no network in the path at all. That is a genuinely useful thing in a large house or a compound, and it works whether or not there is internet, a hub, or a working router.
The WiFi touch switch RF 2 gang gives two devices in the app
The two circuits appear separately in Smart Life, each with its own schedule and its own voice name. Scenes can be triggered by mode, temperature, humidity or other conditions, so a switch can respond to a sensor elsewhere rather than only to a clock. Sharing puts the same control on everybody phone.
What it is made of
PC and tempered glass on a fire resistant shell, with phosphor bronze connectors, and CE, FCC and RoHS marked. The connectors are worth noticing on a switch carrying mains: phosphor bronze holds its spring where cheaper brass relaxes and starts to warm up.
The wiring, and the remote
It needs a neutral wire at the switch box. A great deal of older wiring here brings only the live and the switched live to the plate, so have your electrician open it and look before you order.
The remote is a separate purchase: our RF wireless remote, or the RF wireless switches if you would rather have a second plate on a wall than a fob. For three circuits, the 3 gang version. The platform behind the app is Tuya, at tuya.com.

Questions
What does the RF actually give me?
A way in when the network is not there. Pair a 433 MHz remote and it switches the lights with no router, no internet and no app.
Which remotes work with it?
Any 433 MHz transmitter. We stock a handheld remote and RF wall switches that pair to it.
Do I need a neutral wire?
Yes. Many older switch boxes here have only the live and the switched live, so ask your electrician to open the plate and look before you order.
Do I need a hub?
No. It joins your Wi-Fi on its own.
Who fits it?
A licensed electrician. It replaces the existing switch in the wall box and is wired to mains.
