About this product
The Shelly Button 1 is a Wi-Fi scene button in black, 45 mm square and 16 mm thick. Four different actions sit under the one button, fired by single, double and triple click and a long press, so one button can run four different things.
- Four actions from one Shelly Button 1
- It joins Wi-Fi on its own
- Charging, and the option to leave it plugged in
- Where it goes
- What it controls
It joins your Wi-Fi directly. No hub is required.
Four actions from one Shelly Button 1
Single click, double click, triple click and a long press, each doing something different. So one button beside the bed can put the room lights out, run the whole goodnight scene, open a gate and dim a lamp, without four buttons to label or explain. The long press is the one to keep for dimming, because holding a button and watching the light move is a better interface than pressing repeatedly.
It joins Wi-Fi on its own
No hub, no gateway and nothing else to buy. It talks straight to your network and, from there, to Shelly relays, dimmers, blind controllers and whole scenes. It also speaks MQTT, CoAP and REST, so anyone running Home Assistant or their own automation can use it directly rather than through anybody cloud.
Charging, and the option to leave it plugged in
The battery is rechargeable over Micro USB and gives more than 3000 actions per charge. If it is going somewhere fixed, leave the cable in and it simply runs on constant power with no battery management at all. That flexibility is worth noticing: the same button works as a portable control or as a permanent one.
Where it goes
45 mm square and 16 mm thick, in black. Beside the bed, on a desk, by a door, on a bedside shelf or in a drawer in the kitchen. Range is up to 30 m indoors and 50 m outdoors, and the operating range runs from -40 to +40 degrees, which is more than any room here will ask of it.
What it controls
Anything on your Wi-Fi, and Shelly devices in particular: a Shelly 1 on a light circuit, a Shelly Dimmer for the long press to work properly, or a Shelly Plus 2PM on a blind.
It answers to the Shelly app and to Amazon Alexa. Shelly list the range at shelly.com.
