About this product
The JR Touch Neon Switch 8 Gang is an eight channel Z-Wave touch panel, made in India, on a single wide sheet of toughened glass with a metal bezel. Eight backlit icons cover a whole room from one plate, and each icon is chosen by you through the JR web portal.

The JR Touch Neon Switch 8 Gang: eight circuits, one sheet of glass
The JR Touch Neon Switch 8 Gang is a wide single panel, not two plates side by side, and that is the point of it. Eight circuits at the entrance of a large house, in an open plan sitting and dining room, or in a shop, all under one bezel. Two four gang plates next to each other never line up perfectly and always show the join; one wide panel does not.
Eight identical dots would be useless, so the icons are chosen
Nobody is going to memorise eight unmarked positions. Each icon is selected by you through the JR web portal, so the plate is labelled circuit by circuit for that room. On an eight gang panel this stops being a nicety and becomes the difference between a usable switch and a puzzle on the wall.
What eight mains circuits ask of a panel
Five amps per channel, and surge protection built into the panel rather than left to the board upstairs. Eight circuits behind one face is a concentration of mains in one back box, so the protection and the build matter more here than on a two gang. It goes into a standard modular back box and a licensed electrician fits it.
It repeats for everything else
Mains powered, so it acts as a Z-Wave repeater for every sensor, lock and module around it. An eight gang panel usually sits at the busiest point in the house, which is exactly where a strong repeater does the most good for the rest of the network.
What it needs
A Z-Wave controller, not included. Z-Wave Plus on the 700 series, joined with SmartStart by scanning the code. The three we stock all run it: the Fibaro Home Center Lite, the Fibaro Home Center 2 and the Homey Pro.
Smaller panels in the same series: the 4 gang, the 4 gang with a fan controller and the 2 gang. Wikipedia covers Z-Wave in plain terms.

Questions
Do I need a hub?
Yes. It is a Z-Wave device, so it needs a Z-Wave controller. It is not in the box.
Can I change the icons?
Yes. The icon set is chosen through the JR web portal, so every channel is labelled for what it actually switches.
Will it fit my existing box?
It retrofits into a standard modular back box. Ask your electrician to check the box size before you order.
What colour is the backlight?
RGB, set to match the room, with automatic day and night brightness.
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
