JR Touch Neon Switch - 4 Gang + Fan Controller

The JR Touch Neon Switch 4 Gang Fan Controller is a four channel Z-Wave touch panel with a fan controller, made in India. One plate instead of a switch plate and a regulator

This is the reason the JR Touch Neon Switch 4 Gang Fan Controller exists. A room with a ceiling fan normally ends up with a bank of light switches and a separate rotary regulator beside it, usually in a different style and often at a different height. Here the four lighting icons and the fan circle sit on one sheet of glass, and the wall looks designed rather than accumulated.

The fan control is a circle on the right with four speed steps and its own on and off, so the fan runs at the speed the room actually needs. A relay would only give you full or nothing, which is the wrong answer for a ceiling fan on a warm afternoon and the reason a proper controller is worth the difference.

The icons say what each one does

Each of the four lighting icons is chosen by you through the JR web portal, so the plate is labelled for the room rather than left as four identical dots. On a five position panel that matters more than on a two: nobody is going to learn which of five unmarked spots is the balcony.

Backlight, ratings and the mesh

RGB icon backlighting in a colour you set, with automatic day and night brightness. Five amps per channel and surge protection built in. And because the panel is mains powered it repeats for every other Z-Wave device in the house, so it strengthens the network rather than just sitting on it.

What it needs

A Z-Wave controller, not included: the Fibaro Home Center Lite, the Fibaro Home Center 2 or the Homey Pro. It is Z-Wave Plus on the 700 series with SmartStart inclusion, retrofits into a standard modular back box, and is fitted by a licensed electrician.
