About this product
Read this first: this is not for a normal split air conditioner. It is a fan coil thermostat, wired to the fan coil unit, the kind found on central and chilled-water systems, and it works by switching the fan motor and a motorised water valve. It has no infrared emitter, so it cannot talk to a wall-mounted split unit or a window unit the way a remote does. If you want to put your bedroom AC on your phone, the product you want is the Sensibo Sky or Sensibo Air, both of which we stock and both of which learn your existing remote.

If you do have a fan coil system, this is a good, cheap way to bring it under app control. Four touch buttons under a black LCD: mode, fan speed, and up and down. Three fan speeds, heating and cooling modes, a 5 to 35 degree setting range and half a degree of accuracy. It joins your Wi-Fi directly, with no hub, and runs through the Smart Life or Tuya app with Alexa and Google Home on top.
A correction to the old description on this page. The supplier copy we inherited claimed 16 amps. That figure belongs to the electric floor-heating version of a similar-looking thermostat, not to this one. The real ratings for a fan coil unit are much smaller because it is switching a fan motor and a valve, not a heating element: 5 A resistive on the fan relay and 3 A resistive on the valve relay. We have corrected the table below and we are noting it here because anyone who read the old page and sized a load against 16 amps was badly misled.
One detail we cannot settle from a photograph: fan coil thermostats come in a two-pipe and a four-pipe version, and the faces are identical. Tell us which system you have and we will confirm before it ships.
What a fan coil thermostat is, and what it is not
A fan coil thermostat switches a fan motor and a motorised water valve on a central or chilled-water system. It has no infrared emitter, so it cannot talk to a wall-mounted split unit or a window unit the way a handset does.
If what you want is your bedroom air conditioner on your phone, this is the wrong product and the Sensibo Sky or Sensibo Air is the right one. Both learn your existing remote and both are on this site. We would rather lose the sale than have this arrive at a house with a split unit on the wall.
On a real fan coil system
If you do have fan coils, this is a cheap and effective way to bring them under app control. Four touch buttons sit under a black LCD: mode, fan speed, up and down. Fan coil thermostats come in two-pipe and four-pipe versions and the faces are identical. We cannot tell them apart from a photograph, so tell us which system you have and we will confirm before it ships.
It is hard wired on a 95 to 220 V supply and takes an 86 x 86 mm square back box or a 60 mm round one. Rating is IP20, indoor dry locations only, and an electrician is needed to fit it.
Fan coils only
Worth repeating at the bottom, because it is the one way to waste money on this page. If there is a split unit on your wall with an infrared remote, this will not talk to it. The Sensibo controllers will, and they are on this site.
On a real fan coil system, tell us whether it is two-pipe or four-pipe before we ship. The faces are identical and we cannot tell from a photograph. It is hard wired into an 86 mm box, so an electrician fits it. Other controls: AC and heaters. App: tuya.com.

Questions
Will this control my split air conditioner?
No, and this is the important question on this page. It is a wired fan coil thermostat: it switches a fan motor and a water valve. There is no infrared in it, so it cannot send commands to a split or window unit the way your remote does. For that you want the Sensibo Sky or the Sensibo Air, which we stock. Ask us and we will point you at the right one.
So what is it for?
Fan coil units on central or chilled-water air conditioning, the kind you find in offices, hotels and larger buildings rather than a typical home. If your cooling comes from a wall-mounted indoor unit with a remote, this is not your product. If it comes from a grille fed by pipes, it probably is.
The old description said 16 amps. Was that right?
No, and we have corrected it. Sixteen amps is the rating of the electric floor-heating version of a similar-looking thermostat, and it got pasted onto this listing by a supplier. A fan coil thermostat switches a fan and a valve, not a heating element, so the real figures are 5 A on the fan relay and 3 A on the valve relay. If you sized anything against the old number, please talk to us.
Does it need a hub?
No. It joins your Wi-Fi directly on 2.4 GHz and runs through the Smart Life or Tuya app, with Alexa and Google Home available on top. Nothing else to buy.
